Overview

Use Microsoft Teams at IU or Skype for Business to access Indiana University's UniCom service.

As of January 26, 2021, Indiana University is migrating from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams. During the transitional period, you can use either service to communicate with multiple people via phone, instant messaging, or video. This can be a formal meeting, with presenters and attendees, or a simple multi-party conversation. You may choose to set up a meeting that each person will dial into at the specified time, or you can call multiple people yourself.

Note:

The button will appear in the Outlook for Mac ribbon if you are running Outlook production build 16.24.414.0 or later, and have activated a Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) client subscription.

Notes:

If you are initiating calls, you must enter your Authorization Code for any international numbers. If you're using the Skype for Business client with a USB headset or USB phone, you must call each international number individually, and then merge the conversations together. In one of the conversation windows, click the icon ( ) in Skype for Business, and select the conversation you want to merge into.
If you set up a meeting for others to dial into, the primary phone number will be local to your campus. People calling in from the regions of any of IU's other campuses can call a number in that area to join the conference; in the meeting invitation, click for the list. Any long-distance charges are the responsibility of the callers. All calls between office phones at any of IU's campuses are free.
